Gary McHugh
EMT-P, ACP
Advanced Care
Paramedic (ACP) with 19 years as a Supervisor for Urgences Santé, Montreal’s
ambulance service and more than 25 years of prehospital experience in EMS.
Educator for
various programs including the first Emergency Medical Technicians-Paramedic
Program in Quebec given by Dawson College/Royal Victoria Hospital, Urgences-Santé
ambulance service in Montreal, and several municipal First Responder
programs.
He is certified
as a First Responder/CPR/Automatic External Defibrillator (AED), and ACLS
Instructor-Trainer. As of 2004, he is one of only 3 non-physicians to be
certified in Quebec as an ACLS Instructor-Trainer.
Gary was one
of 18 EMT’s chosen to participate in the first “sanctioned” Advanced Care
Paramedic Courses in Quebec and in 2004 was recertified as an ACP with
Durham College in Ontario.
In 2008, Gary joins the
part-time faculty at John Abbott College for the new paramedic program.
