Sports Emergency Medical Responder (S-EMR) Certification (44-88hrs)
Provides an upgrade in skill level for the Sports
First Responder. The Sports-EMR level has enhanced skill sets suitable for frequent field coverage & major
events. Credit is given for prior knowledge and current SFR certification (as of October 1st ,2008). Topics include:
stretcher handling, communication, IV administration, glucometry, pulse oximetry, emergency vehicule operation, extrication
devices, advanced airway devices, etc. Actual skill sets are dependant apon local provincial guidelines. Stand alone
EMR courses without pre-requisites are between 80-88 hrs in duration.

Sports CPR/AED-HCP (Health Care Provider)
Certification
(4-6 hrs) Re-Certification (3-4 hrs)
Sports CPR/AED-HCP is intended for health care
professionals who cover sporting events. Where possible, scenarios are sports-incident based, but all ILCOR
standards are covered. CPR/AED-HCP is the health care professional level course for cardio-pulmonary resuscitation and
automated external defibrillation. It is compliant with the ILCOR 2005 norms (International Liason Committee on Resuscitation).
It includes: establishing level of consciousness, EMS activation, airway: (headtilt-chinlift, trauma jaw thrust), breathing:
AR with barrier device, pocket mask, BVM, pulse check, external cardiac massage, AED, Sellick, obstructed airway,
1-2 person techniques, victims: infant, child, adult.
